A high-concentration pure retinol 1% anti-ageing cream for experienced retinol users to refine the signs of ageing skin.
Science and Proof:
Topical retinol has been used extensively by dermatologists to help minimise the visual effects of ageing, including wrinkles, laxity and skin discolouration. Retinol can also help minimise blemishes and the visible appearance of pores because it accelerates skin cell turnover. This cream’s optimised delivery system works with the skin’s natural lipid structure for optimal absorption.
Topical 1% retinol application can lead to visible reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and hyperpigmentation caused by acne-prone skin. The occurrence of blemishes can also be minimised.
Directions:
Having cleansed your face, apply a thin layer of the moisturiser and allow to dry (regardless of concentration, retinol should not be applied to damp skin as it may be absorbed more deeply and cause irritation). Once skin is dry, apply a pea-sized amount of Retinol 1.0 night cream, closely followed by a second layer of moisturiser to sandwich moisture in. Allow for full absorption before applying other products and limit initial use of retinol to once or twice weekly. Gradually increase the frequency to every other night, then every night as tolerance builds.
Warning: Retinol 1.0 is only intended for those who already have experience with Retinol 0.5. Retinol 1.0 is a very high strength retinol product, and should only be used in the evening. To avoid irritating the skin, use a lipid-rich moisturiser such as Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 Anti-Ageing Moisturiser after application of the 1.0 retinol to seal in moisture. SkinCeuticals recommends you consult a skincare professional before starting use of a product with this high a concentration of retinol. Retinol increases skin cell turnover and this process makes the skin extra sensitive to the effects of the sun. It's essential to use a broad spectrum, high SPF sunscreen such as Skinceuticals Ultra Facial Defense SPF50 when using this retinol product.
